Alan Sussman, a professor at Bard and a collector of rare books, decided to donate his collection to the Bard College Library.
A piece of furniture from the Schuyler house was in the part of the library which would house the future Sussman collection.
Along with Alan, we designed all of the furniture to bring the design and proportional elements to reflect the original cabinet, which remains the centerpiece of the library.
Display cases are used for ongoing displays of the rare books in the collection.
